Pumpkin patches + mazes
Bush N Vine Farm, 1650 Filbert Hwy., York
Every weekend in October, guests can pick their own pumpkin before (or after) taking a one-mile walk down a hiking trail + live music and food.
Pumpkins under five pounds are $1.15 per pound and $0.69 per pound if over five pounds.
Carrigan Farms, 1261 Oakridge Farm Hwy., Mooresville
Enjoy a hayride to the petting zoo before picking the best gourd from a 20-acre field.
Admission is $15 ($5 online deposit required, $10 at the door.)

Charlotte Knights’ 5th Annual Pumpkin Patch, 324 S. Mint St., Charlotte
On Saturday, Oct. 12, thousands of pumpkins will fill the outfield in this fall season kickoff + a portion of purchases will benefit the Charlotte Knights Charities Foundations.
Pumpkins will be $10-$20. Admission is free.
Cherry Place Farm, 1922 Oakdale Rd., Rock Hill
This farm boasts a large selection of pumpkins sourced from the NC mountains, petting zoo, two-acre corn maze + free popcorn every weekend in October.
Admission is $10 but not required if only purchasing a pumpkin.
Hall Family Farm, 445 W. Rebound Rd., Lancaster
Whether you’re picking pumpkins, exploring the corn maze, trying a ropes course, or enjoying a hayride — there’s an activity for all ages.
Pumpkins are $0.70 per pound. Admission for the corn mazes range $4.50-$12.
Hodges Family Farm, 3780 Rocky River Rd., Charlotte
Pick pumpkins of all shapes and sizes + see barnyard animals up-close, enjoy a picnic, hayrides + children can climb on hay bales.
Admission is $5 per car.
Springs Farm, 1010 Springfield Pkwy., Fort Mill
This market serves homemade seasonal ice cream + offers fresh-pressed apple cider and pumpkins.

Haunted houses
Scarrigan Farms, 1261 Oakridge Farm Hwy., Mooresville
On select October nights, the farm is transformed into one of the scariest haunted trails in the region. Children under 12 are not recommended to attend.
Admission is $25-$45 ($5 online deposit required).
The 13th Acre, 3718 Plyler Mill Rd., Monroe
Prepare for jump-scares and chills while visiting two large haunted attractions spanning 13 acres east of Charlotte.
Admission is $26.50-$44.
Hickory Grove Haunted Trail, 4064 Mountain View St., Gastonia
Your heart will pound while walking one of the oldest haunted attractions in the Charlotte area.
Admission is $20.
SCarowinds, 14523 Carowinds Blvd, Charlotte
Face your fears while exploring Carowinds’ four spine-chilling scare zones, ominous shows, and five mazes. Check out our visit.

Macabre Masquerade, 168 W. 6th St., Charlotte
On Saturday, Oct. 26, Discovery Place Science will transform into a science-filled party for adults that boasts mystery, allure, and dark delights.

The Great Elizabeth Pumpkin Wall, 2017 Greenway Ave., Charlotte
For the 20th year, Elizabeth residents will carve dozens of pumpkins to create an illuminating display + spell out the year’s theme. Mark your calendar for Sunday, Oct. 27 at 6:45 p.m.

Ayrsley Grand Cinemas Retro Horror Series, 9110 Kings Parade Blvd., Charlotte
The movie theater in south Charlotte will show screenings of different classic horror films every week in October.

78th Annual Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade, Tryon Street, Uptown Charlotte
On Wednesday, Nov. 27, expect to see large floats, marching bands, and massive balloons in the heart of Uptown to kick off the holiday season.

Speedway Christmas, 5571 Concord Pkwy. S., Concord
This annual display kicks off Friday, Nov. 22 and boasts more than four million lights synchronized to Christmas music within a drive-thru display at the Speedway.
