It’s almost time to booty. Riders are gearing up for 24 Hours of Booty 2024. The annual cycling event in the Myers Park neighborhood is set for Friday, July 26 — Saturday, July 27.

Registration is still open for anyone interested in riding.

What is 24 Hours of Booty?

This is a 24-hour-long party with a meaningful cause. The inaugural ride was held in 2002 when Charlotte attorney Spencer Lueders sought to raise awareness for cancer through a cycling event. It has since become one of the Queen City’s biggest annual events.

Editor’s note: Organizers stress this is a charity ride — not a race — so participants can ride or walk as much or as little as they like.

Not able to ride? No worries. Volunteers are needed to help with event check-in, hydration stations, and entertainment in the kid zone, and more.

Many of the participants are cancer survivors, currently undergoing treatment, or in recovery. Every year, they lead the pack in the first lap around the Booty Loop. Survivors can sign up to take part.

Fun fact: 24 Hours of Booty 2024 has already raised more than $1 million.
