Prepare your taste buds for a taste of history. The Charlotte Museum of History is hosting its Twelfth Night party on Saturday, Jan. 4. The annual event combines North Carolina history and local spirits — not the haunting kind.

Dr. Megan Cherry from NC State will give a talk on 18th-century alcohol consumption in the South, so how it’s distilled and consumed in the past versus how we do it now,” said Kendall McGeorge, public programs manager for the Charlotte Museum of History.

Local spirit sampling will take place throughout the museum’s eight-acre site, including at the historic 1774 Alexander Rock House + cooking demonstrations at the restored log kitchen.

Fun fact: Local companies like Great Wagon Road Distillery and Madison, NC-based Midnight Moon Moonshine will provide the evening’s libations.

Tickets are $40 and proceeds from the ticket sales will go back to the museum for ongoing preservation work.
