The Queen City will provide an immersive experience into Japanese culture. Urban District Market and Seoul Food Meat Co. in NoDa are hosting the first inaugural Japan Fest.
When and where
Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2 | 1:30-8 p.m. | Urban District Market, 2315 N. Davidson St., Charlotte
The festival will feature:
- Matsuri games (think: Japanese carnival games)
- Music and karaoke contests
- Food and drinks
- Origami
- Cosplay contest
- Martial arts performances
“We hope for a good turnout,” said Timothy Chun, co-owner of Seoul Food Meat Co. “The food is key to any festival. We also hope it raises the cultural awareness here in Charlotte.”
Volunteers from all backgrounds can sign up now.
