Summertime brings many free concerts you can attend + enjoy an evening outdoors.

Sundown Sounds draws hundreds of people to parks across the county for live music.

There’s no better way to enjoy the late summer sunsets than free outdoor concerts.

Starting this week, Mecklenburg County is hosting Sundown Sounds — a free concert series at multiple Park and Recreation locations.

  • Ramsey Creek Beach | Fridays, June 14, July 12, and Aug. 9 | 18441 Nantz Rd., Cornelius | Performances by Blue Monday, Gary Lowder and the Smokin’ Hot, and Chris Taylor and the Rumor
  • Eastway Regional Recreation Center | Thursdays, June 20, July 18, and Aug. 18 | 3150 Eastway Park Dr., Charlotte | Jam to live music provided by D.K. Harrell, Groove Machine, and West End Mambo
  • Pearl Street Park | Thursdays, June 27, July 25, and Aug. 22 | 1200 Baxter St., Charlotte | Dance along to The Entertainers, Carolina Soul Band, and Landslide.

Concerts are from 7 to 9 p.m. Sundown Sounds runs from June to August.

Want more? The Mint Museum is hosting Party in the Park — a free monthly event on select Sundays, 1-5 p.m., at 2730 Randolph Rd.

Camp North End hosts Friday Night Music — a weekly event offering live music, local art, and plenty of food and drink options.

Concerts on the Green returns to Davidson’s Village Green on select Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 12. Pro tip: The Village Green is in front of Davidson Public Library at 119 S. Main St.

Ready to dance? The season finale of this year’s Viva la Música CLT! music series will be Thursday, June 27 at 7 p.m. Expect performances from NC Brazilian Arts Project and Sol Fusion Band + dance lessons, sing-alongs, and food food trucks. The free event will be at the Visulite Theatre,1615 Elizabeth Ave. Editor’s note: Registration is encouraged to attend.
