Airport to be bustling for July Fourth travel

Passengers are encouraged to arrive early and expect long lines for holiday weekend travel at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Traveling for the Fourth of July? Charlotte Douglas International Airport says to be prepared for long lines and crowds.

AAA projects 70.9 million people will travel over the Independence Day travel period — Saturday, June 29 to Sunday, July 7. An estimated 5.7 million of these people will fly — a 7% increase versus last year.

CLT anticipates record-breaking summer travel numbers, with passenger numbers potentially reading 14% higher compared to summer 2023.
