Charlotte organizations send support for Hurricane Helene relief

Queen City companies and sports organizations rally financial aide to support western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene.

In the wake of widespread devastation across western North Carolina from Hurricane Helene, organizations across the Queen City have sent financial support to help thousands of people without food, water, power, or their homes in the aftermath of the storm.

Here’s a list of those donations so far:

  • Duke Energy Foundation committed $1 million to support communities impacted by Hurricane Helene to provide food and emergency shelter.
  • The David & Nicole Tepper Foundation donated $3 million in partnership with the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC.
  • The Charlotte Hornets donated $1 million benefiting American Red Cross and Second Harvest Food Bank.
  • Truist Foundation is donating $1 million to IT Disaster Resource Center, United Way Worldwide, and the American Red Cross.
  • Autism Kids is collecting donations to provide children living with Autism affected by Helene with books.
