Charlotte just scored a new tool for food lovers. Troodie, a restaurant discovery app, launched in the Queen City, and aims to help Charlotteans save, organize, and share dining spots with your contacts.

“There are a lot of content creators who started off like me and my friends, who like to travel and eat and post about their experiences,” Creator and North Carolina-born Taylor Davis told CLTtoday. “So I realized there was a gap that could be filled where we could help restaurants maintain a strong social media presence by connecting them with diners and local creators to create content.”

Here’s how it works

Instead of juggling screenshots, text threads, or notes, Troodie lets users keep all their must-visit restaurants in one place. You can create personalized lists, share recommendations with friends, and create dining wishlists. Bonus: The app features “personas” that help you find personalized content.

“When you download the app, there’s an onboarding process with questions, and users are assigned one of eight ‘personas’ to find, for example, high-end experiences like James Beard nominees or comfort foods,” explained Davis.

While Charlotte is Troodie’s launch market, the app will be available in other cities — download it free for your next dinner out. If you’re a restaurant owner, content creator, or investor, Troodie is accepting applications.
