The Coca Cola 600 roars into Concord on Memorial Day weekend

It’s time for the Coca-Cola 600. NASCAR’s annual race pays tribute to the US military and fallen members of the Armed Forces.

The 65th running of the race features a full calendar of events:

Friday
  • BetMGM Speed Street — Expect a weekend of food, games, prizes, and NASCAR Trackside Live near the Avenue of Flags.
  • North Carolina Education Lottery 200 — The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series kicks off Memorial Day weekend with 200 miles of wheel-to-wheel action.
Saturday
  • EchoPark Coffee Cup Series — Join Michael Waltrip’s meet and greet session + free coffee, autographs, and a grand prize raffle for a pace car ride.
  • NASCAR Xfinity Series BetMGM 300 — NASCAR Xfinity Series regulars take on NASCAR Cup Series superstars in a 1 p.m. showcase of speed.
Sunday
  • Pre-race concert: Matchbox Twenty — Before the Coca-Cola 600, jam out to “3AM” and other hit songs from the multi-Grammy nominated band. A military appreciation performance will follow, featuring salutes to each military branch.
  • Coca Cola 600 — NASCAR’s longest race will put man and machine in a race for the finish line.
The race is scheduled to begin around 6 p.m. + will be broadcast on FOX.

Sunday’s Coca Cola 600 race is sold out. Verified resale tickets are available starting at $121.

Tickets are still available for Friday and Saturday‘s events.

Parking
Charlotte Motor Speedway is surrounded by lots with shuttle services to the entrances. Parking fees may vary by day.

Weather conditions
Should weather cause a cancellation, Speedway Motorsports allows fans to use a ticket credit towards a future race at any of its properties, including Bristol Motor Speedway, North Wilkesboro Speedway, and Texas Motor Speedway.

  • Mecklenburg County is starting the summer with a splash. Several outdoor pools, splash pads, and beaches will open this weekend for the summer season. Indoor pools are open year-round.

  • The Blowing Rock Art & History Museum now owns its land. The Town of Blowing Rock previously owned the land and leased it to the Museum. The purchase was gifted by an anonymous donor.
