The school year is almost over, but there are still ways for your child to learn a new skill. Consider a summer camp focused on the arts.

Nonprofit Arts+ offers weekly summer programming for children 4-18. Classes will focus on art, band, orchestra, and even ukelele.

”Our summer camps allow students to grow and develop their skills and offer connection with other Charlotte musicians and artists,” says Wes Smith, the Arts+ Director of Music Programs and Artistic Director for the Charlotte Youth Choir.

Music camps
  • Discovering strings and art (grades PreK-2)
  • Discovering music and art (grades K-2)
  • Discovering ukelele (grades 2-6)

If your child is interested in visual arts, like design and drawing, there’s something for them, too.

“We also love to focus on students developing artwork based on their own concepts, stories, and interests,” says Caroline Tippette, Arts+ Director of Visual Art Programs. “This comes into play via processes like creating characters and intricate plots (exploring comics) and creating a digital world for an original character (digital illustration).”

  • Discovering strings and art (grades PreK-2)
  • Discovering music and art (grades K-2)
  • Youth art camp: make your mark (grades 3-7)
