If you’re looking for companionship, cuddles, or just a bit of extra cuteness, there are furry friends across the Queen City who need your help. Check out three animal shelters and a few adoptable pets along the way.
Editor’s note: We can’t guarantee the animals included below are still available for adoption.
Find your perfect dog or cat to add to the family, or consider donating to the shelter’s efforts to help homeless animals. Folks age 65 and older + military personnel can get 10% off adoption fees and services.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control has been helping animals since 1944. A visit could provide a dog, cat, or farm animal a permanent place to call home.
As a proud dog mom, I know it can be a big decision to bring a new pup or kitty into the family. Many shelters and organizations (like the Humane Society) can provide resources for training + answer questions for all paw-rents. Even if you aren’t looking to get a new pet, consider looking into their programs or volunteering! Also, here’s one of our rescues pups to make you smile.
