The Charlotte Knights hit the diamond for a new season at Truist Field with a jam-packed opening weekend starting today. The Knights host the Gwinnett Stripers in a three-game series, and fans can snag their tickets now to experience ballpark magic surrounded by Uptown’s skyline + extra flair.

Little Sugar Creek Greenway from Morehead Street to East Boulevard is back open. A state of emergency remains active for 30 NC counties due to wildfires in Western North Carolina, with little containment. Evacuations were issued for Polk, Henderson, and Rutherford counties. More than 300 firefighting personnel are battling the fires. (WCNC)
