The Wrap

Today’s edition by: Jack VanderToll

You’ll find few people who love a day on the water more than yours truly. I took this photo last summer out on Lake James while on a boat trip with friends up in Burke County, NC. Never been? There’s plenty of space for boats, plus amazing vistas and we even spotted a bald eagle.

Which former president did not visit Charlotte for the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence celebration?

Yesterday, Charlotte celebrated Meck Dec Day, aka 250 years of independence. We put history buffs to the test and 22% of voters were correct — Grover Cleveland never visited Charlotte to celebrate the monumental occasion. Gerald Ford, William Taft, Woodrow Wilson, and Dwight D. Eisenhower all visited at some point during their tenure.
