Ready to take flight? City Editor Jack here — I had the chance to tour Sullenberger Aviation Museum’s latest exhibit, “Aviation City,” that’s now open to the public. My tour felt like going back in time, seeing aircraft like a Piedmont Airlines DC-3, Stearman biplane, and an F-84 Thunderjet.
If you visit the exhibit, open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., then you’ll get to learn the history of aviation in the Carolinas, and get a chance to hop into the cockpit of a Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star.
