It’s official. Charlotte FC will host the MLS All-Star Game at Bank of America Stadium in July 2026, solidifying the city’s growing soccer status. This marks a major win after recently hosting two big summer events — the FIFA Club World Cup and Copa América. We’ll have the full story in tomorrow morning’s newsletter.

ESO Artisanal Pasta will open at Optimist Hall on Friday, Aug. 8. The husband-and-wife team will serve an assortment of dishes, like arancini (fried risotto balls), meatballs, and Sicilian fried chicken.

Announced

La Bonbonniere Bakery is opening a second spot in Uptown. Expected to open in September, the new location at The Alley at Latta Arcade will serve as its official cookie lab + will operate with extended hours.

The third annual Festival Colombiano returns to uptown Saturday, July 19, with live music, dance performances, Colombian cuisine, and artisan markets. It’s one of many events we’ve been planning for this month. (WCNC)

Charlotte nonprofits are growing their resources by using artificial intelligence by Apparo, a local organization that trains local groups to integrate AI into their operations. Over the last six years, Apparo has worked with 80 nonprofits. (WCNC)

It’s Christmas in July — tickets are on sale now for the 58th Annual Southern Christmas Show. The annual event will pack The Park Expo and Conference Center from Thursday, Nov. 13, through Sunday, Nov. 23. Fun fact: it’s the largest holiday show in North America.
