It’s official: Charlotte is home to North Carolina’s first MICHELIN Star, appearing in the MICHELIN Guide for the first time. The inaugural American South Guide was unveiled in Greenville, SC earlier this week, and the Queen City showcased its growing culinary scene with multiple restaurants earning recognition.

MICHELIN Star + Green Star:

  • Counter- by Sam Hart earned One Star + Green Star for sustainability. Inspectors praised the tasting-menu spot as “an outlier in the Charlotte dining scene” for its immersive, ever-changing concepts and commitment to local ingredients.

Bib Gourmand:

  • Lang Van | This family-owned spot serves Vietnamese noodles and soups, with plenty of vegetarian options, and is recognized for great food at a great value — 50 restaurants earned this distinction.

The Tonidandel-Brown Restaurant Group earned three Recommended spots, and Colleen Hughes won Exceptional Cocktails.
