Have you ever wondered what would happen if you walked in a straight line around the world from Charlotte? Wonder no longer, wanderer.

Let us introduce you to LatLon Connect, an online tool that allows users to explore cities across the world that share the same latitude and longitude.

What we found

In our search, we stuck with the default settings, looking for places with 100,000+ people with a buffer zone of 6.21 miles (that’s 10 kilometers).

Dozens of results popped up, with the most populated city lying directly on the other side of the globe: Nagoya, Japan’s fourth-largest city, pictured above. Around 10 million people call its metropolitan area home.

Are you craving a burger or salad for lunch?

Eat

The Goodyear House recently launched a new lunch menu, featuring burgers, salads, wings, and more. Our favorites were the goopy burger, fry bag, and the chicken schnitzel caesar.

Number

$550,000. That’s how much UNC Charlotte surpassed in fundraising efforts for women’s sports at the school. The largest sum came from the David & Nicole Tepper Foundation — $250,000. The money will benefit the school’s ~200 female varsity athletes competing in basketball, golf, track, lacrosse, and more. (Charlotte Business Journal)

Seasonal

Farmers markets in Gaston County will accept SNAP benefits starting next month. It will include the markets in Gastonia, Mount Holly, and Belmont. Find one near you to support local growers and vendors. (WCNC)

Concert

Here’s one for the people who grew up watching movies on The Disney Channel. Stars from “Camp Rock,” “Descendants,” and “ZOMBIES” are all coming to Charlotte for the “Worlds Collide Concert Tour” on Thursday, Nov. 19. Tickets for the Spectrum Center show go on sale later this month.

Real Estate

A two-for-the-price-of-one like you’ve never seen before. A $15 million estate on Lake Norman has been split in two, now listed for $7.5 million each. One has a main home with attached townhouses, and the other contains a sailing club. (Charlotte Business Journal)

Active

What’s going on with the Charlotte Marathon? Nobody knows, and organizers are being cryptic. It looks like an announcement is coming next week — the commenters are just as intrigued as we are.

State

If you’re ever an hour up I-85, consider stopping by Lexington Barbecue. The spot was recently crowned best barbecue joint in the state by Southern Living, praised for its “huge” Piedmont-style pork shoulder.
When dinner turns into a staring contest with your fridge, Forkful meals save the night. They’re fully prepared and ready in minutes — with zero seed oils and high-quality proteins. Use code CMD50 to take 50% off your first order.*

Tech

If your computer overheats with a few tabs open or sounds ready for liftoff, the problem might not be your device — it’s likely your antivirus. Many big-name brands are bulky + full of pop-ups. Webroot’s antivirus protection uses 33 times less space and scans up to six times faster. Get protected.*

The Wrap

Reader Cheryl A. sent me this question: “The Mint Museum has an audio tour I’m thinking about taking. Have you ever taken it?”

I have not. Would anyone recommend it? Reply to this email to help your fellow reader out.
