Major League Table Tennis is bringing some of the world’s best table tennis professionals to the Queen City starting Friday, March 13, through Sunday, March 15. The Carolina Gold Rush will host a three-day slate of matches at the Charlotte Convention Center, where teams will play singles and doubles matches in a team-based format. Tickets start at $24.

Philadelphia-based sandwich shop Ricci’s Hoagies opens today in NoDa. The iconic eatery serves hoagies with hand-sliced meats and freshly baked rolls — my favorite is the punisher. To celebrate the opening, the first 50 people will pay 1920s-era pricing (about 60 cents) for a sandwich, starting at 11 a.m.

Up to 11 parks and four greenways could be affected by the planned I-77 elevated toll lanes. According to county assessments, Wilmore Park would be eliminated, and Frazier Park could lose several courts and its dog park. (WCNC)
