Phase two of Spectrum Center renovations brings new seats, dining options for fans

Concertgoers and Hornets fans alike will see new seats, new grab-and-go shops, and two new “districts,” that will merge hospitality and game-day action.

The second phase of the $245 million Re!magine Spectrum Center project is complete, giving sports fans and concertgoers an improved experience, just in time for the Spectrum Center‘s 20th anniversary, fall concert lineup, and the Hornets’ 2025-2026 season.

“We are looking fabulous,” Donna Julian, Hornets Sports and Entertainment’s Chief Venues Officer, told CLTtoday. “We wanted this to elevate our guest experience for all of our fans who are coming in.”

Guests to the new and improved Spectrum Center will find a brighter space, more seating, and hangout spots for all events.

What’s new for fans

  • Belk Concourse: Within the main lobby, fans won’t miss a view of the new 225-ft LED board + new signage, brighter lighting, and flooring.
  • “Grab-and-go” markets: Seven new spots along the main concourse, offering hot and cold food items and drinks, including two Amazon stores.
  • Two new districts: The Lunazul North District and South District will boast 360-degree bars, offering views to the arena floor — this didn’t exist before.
  • Baseline Bar: Located on the east side of the arena, providing a direct view into the bowl.
  • Founder’s level: Seven suites have been added, bringing the total to 17.
  • New club space: Guests can expect all-inclusive hospitality, private seating, and close proximity to the court.
  • Seating: All the arena seats have been replaced + an additional 1,400 seats are being added.
  • Outside: A 50-ft wide, 13.5-ft high LED sign in the Trade Street Plaza.

New food options

The Hornets unveiled new menu items ahead of the Hornets’ 2025-26 season — think: porchetta sandwiches, falafel bowls, and a house-smoked barbecue quesadilla. The new bites can be found at the Lunazul North District and The South District within the Belk Concourse, plus local bites from Amelie’s, Bruster’s Ice Cream, and Knowledge Perk Coffee will also be available.

20th anniversary plans

The Spectrum Center has major plans for its reopening and anniversary, including two shows by Billie Eilish, Stevie Nicks, and Charlotte’s own Renee Rapp. Check out the schedule and snag tickets.

Watch the Hornets

As for the Queen City’s basketball team, the Hornets will face the Brooklyn Nets at home on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. — tickets start at $23. The regular season runs through Sunday, April 12, with the last home game happening Friday, April 10.
