A new, luxury residential space is coming to Ballantyne. Oro Ballantyne will be a 26-story tower with studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments, along with townhomes and penthouses. The building will feature a coffee bar, co-working spaces, and a hidden speakeasy.
Travel
Charlotte Douglas International Airport expects record-breaking crowds for Spring Break. The busiest travel days will be Thursday, March 28, Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1. The airport recommends arriving two hours before domestic flights and monitoring security wait times.
Sports
UNC’s men’s basketball team beat Michigan State, advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. As for the battle of the Carolinas in the women’s tournament, the Gamecocks came out on top against the Heels. Keep up with the tournament and scores on the NCAA website.

Charlotte will soon be home to Carolina Ascent FC, a new women’s professional soccer team. The team’s inaugural season kicks off in August with home games planned at American Legion Memorial Stadium. (WCNC)

Davidson-based Summit Coffee will open two new cafes in the Queen City later this year. The expanding coffee spot will soon open in the Wilmore and Highland neighborhoods. Exact locations are TBA.
Eat
Midnight Diner will open a second location. The popular eatery will be found at 6538 N. Tryon St. by the end of the year. The owner says moving plans are nearly two-and-a-half years in the making. (WSOC)

As a graduate of the University of Dayton, I remember when we made the Elite 8 my senior year of college. I always hope for a longer run in the NCAA tournament. This year, I think we gave our opponents some stiff competition. Here’s to next year!
