Tropical Storm Debby is approaching the Charlotte region, bringing strong winds and 4 to 7 inches of rain for parts of the Queen City. Be aware, there are some areas in the city that are prone to flooding.
Neighborhoods and streets situated along several of Charlotte’s vast creeks and greenways are likely to see flooding.
Little Sugar Creek — which flows through Dilworth and next to Uptown — has a history of flooding. Take caution around 7th Street, East Boulevard near Queens Road West, Midtown Park at Pearl Park Way, and Cordelia Park.
Briar Creek, near Myers Park, flooded earlier this year, prompting water rescues.
Areas prone to flooding across the Charlotte area are marked in light blue and gray on the map.
