Friday, Feb. 14

Ellianos Coffee is opening a drive-through store in Mooresville. The Italian-themed coffee chain on the Brawley School Road peninsula will serve smoothies, coffees, breakfast bowls, teas, and shakes. An opening date is TBA. (The Charlotte Observer)
Traffic
Construction begins this week to widen NC 150, prompting overnight lane closures in Lake Norman and Mooresville. The $269 million project will impact 15 miles of roadway as crews widen the road, plus install new continuous flow intersections and bridges over I-77 and Lake Norman. (WCNC)
Civic
Charlotte City Council voted on the $93 million financing plan for the Red Line purchase. The funds would reimburse the city for two purchases approved back in September — the 22 miles of the O-Line railroad + land near the Charlotte Gateway Station. A public hearing is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 24, at 6:30 p.m. (WCNC)
