New transit options could be coming to Mecklenburg County. Last Thursday, State Rep. Tricia Cotham (R-Mint Hill) introduced House Bill 948, or the P.A.V.E. Act.. If passed, it would create a ballot referendum for the November election allowing voters to approve an added one-cent sales tax for a new transit authority, including funding for the Silver Line and Red Line. The former Village Tavern in SouthPark could be replaced with a new restaurant.
