Charlotte is a huge sports city. From preparing to host the FIFA Club World Cup and the PGA Championship to launching a new women’s pro soccer team and hosting major college matchups, we’ve got it all. So, it’s no surprise that Charlotte Sports Foundation‘s (CSF) seven major events in 2024 generated $90.6 million for the Queen City.

Major players

Last year, CSF organized the ACC Football Championship game, Ally Tipoff, Jumpman Invitational, Charlotte Invitational, Duke’s Mayo Bowl, Duke’s Mayo Classic, and the Meck Mile.
The Clemson Tigers take the field at Bank of America Stadium.

The 2024 Duke’s Mayo Classic between University of Tennessee and NC State University drew 72,000+ people to Bank of America Stadium.

New in 2024

CSF introduced two new events, the Meck Mile presented by Albemarle and the Charlotte Invitational.

The Buy

The best pet supply products to simplify at-home care and keep your fur baby happy:

đŸŸ Pet ear wipes are a quick, one-step solution to make sure pets don’t develop problems caused by build-up.
đŸŸ This cat + dog steam brush de-sheds better than plain brushes or combs, thanks to hair-attracting steam.
đŸŸ Eager to avoid expensive teeth cleaning? Once-a-week dental wipes can get you there without tangling with a toothbrush.
đŸŸ Swapping water bowls for a pet water fountain keeps water filtered and fresh — and pets tend to love drinking from it.
đŸŸ As seen on TV, Muddy Mats are designed to trap dirt, mud, and sand from paws, keeping entryways clean — no toweling off required.

The Wrap

A headshot of City Editor Maria with a green circular background and her name on the right.
I’ve participated in several races in Charlotte since moving here in 2018. I think the key to getting a solid PR is setting up a rockin’ playlist. Of course, “Eye of the Tiger” is on my playlist, along with “The Final Countdown.” Want to help us put a list together?
