National Fitness Day, celebrated each year on the first Saturday of May. Get your sweat on at one of these local yoga studios. If fitness isn’t your thing, it’s also one of our favorite holidays of the year — National Lumpy Rug Day.

🎶 We’re feelin’ the love

Charlotte’s biggest music festival — Lovin’ Life Music Fest (LLMF) — is back in First Ward Park this weekend for its sophomore year, and music fans are in for a weekend-long, star-studded music celebration.

"[Lovin’ Life is a] love letter to the city we call home,” Chasity Todd of Lovin’ Life Music Fest told CLTtoday.

Road closures
The City of Charlotte announced road closures surrounding the festival, including:
  • East 8th Street between North Caldwell Street and the light rail tracks
  • East 9th Street between North Caldwell Street and the light rail tracks
  • East 7th Street between North Brevard Street and the light rail tracks
  • North Brevard Street between East 6th Street and East 9th Street
  • North Caldwell Street between 6th Street and 9th Street
Drivers can expect detours surrounding First Ward Park. Keep an eye on any closures using this map.

There’s so much happening in Charlotte today, but a big chunk of my heart is in my hometown of Louisville, KY, today (hey, LOUtoday) for the 151st Kentucky Derby.
