How cute are those pandas? Get ready to spot pandas everywhere and savor Asian cuisine from dozens of vendors during Panda Fest. The festival kicks off today at 4 p.m. at Ballantyne’s Backyard and runs through Sunday, Sept. 14 — tickets start at $17.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control is waiving adoption fees for kittens through this Sunday, Sept. 14. The shelter currently has 139 kittens in its care — maybe one could be yours.

What started as a coffee cart will now be a permanent staple in South End. Cool Idiot Coffee will celebrate its grand opening at HopFly Brewing Co. on Saturday, Sept. 27, starting at 8 a.m. Expect to order lattes, matcha, and sips from a new seasonal menu.

Soccer lovers, unite. In case you missed it, ticket pre-sale registration is going on now for the FIFA World Cup. While the Queen City won’t be hosting any games this year — yes, this is different than the FIFA Club World Cup — it’s only a five-hour drive to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA, for the eight matches happening Tuesday, June 16, to Sunday, July 5.
Snagging tickets can be a little tricky for those who haven’t done it before. Without further ado, here’s how to get yours.
Register online
Your first stop is to create your own FIFA ID, by visiting FIFA.com/tickets. At the top right corner of the page, click on the “person” icon and then “sign up.” Enter the details requested, create a unique and secure password, and agree to the conditions.
Watch for the draw
The Visa Presale Draw is open through Friday, Sept. 19. Once registration ends, there will be a randomized process to select fans who will be able to purchase their tickets.
