A message from our team

We receive hundreds of thank-you emails every week, and often you ask how you can support us. If you’ve gotten something out of being subscribed to CLTtoday, like finding that life-changing concert in our Events section or using our City Guides to plan the perfect way to spend the day with family, we couldn’t be more honored to be a part of your life — and we’re calling on you now to help support our mission with a donation.

All eyes will be on the Queen City in 2027 when Charlotte hosts the CISM Military World Summer Games. The nine-day competition, happening June 25-July 4, is often dubbed the Olympics for the world’s militaries, and many of the athletes will go on to qualify for the 2028 Olympics.

Organized by the U.S. Performance Center right here in Charlotte, 10,000 athletes from 140 nations will compete in 40+ sports, from swimming and track & field, to military-specific events like pentathlon and parachuting.
Thousands of people crowd Bank of America Stadium for a Charlotte FC match as fireworks erupt.

Bank of America Stadium could be one of the hosting venues for the 2027 World Military Games.

Stop throwing out your old denim. Recycle it through Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ program instead.

It’s simple: Find a participating retailer near you, drop off your well-loved denim (for free), and become a part of this green initiative.

How will your jeans be recycled? Blue Jeans Go Green™ will transform them into insulation for houses, pet beds, food packaging, and more.

The Wrap

I attempted to take a photo of the Northern Lights over Mooresville just before midnight on Wednesday. While the red is slightly visible near the bottom of the photo, the stars came out alright! Maybe I can start practicing astrophotography?
