The Queen City will host some of the world’s top soccer players. Bank of America Stadium is one of 12 venues slated to host the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

“Football is the most popular sport on the planet, and in 2025 a new era for club football will kick off when FIFA stages the greatest, most inclusive and merit-based global club competition right here in the United States,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

Let’s talk details

Bank of America Stadium is no stranger to fútbol fans. The stadium is home to Charlotte FC + hosted one of two semifinal matches and a third-place match of Conmebol’s Copa América — a sold-out event — earlier this year.

The stadium is home to the Carolina Panthers and will host major concerts in the coming year ahead of its $650 million renovation in 2026.

Looking at the numbers... in 2023, soccer-related events drew more than 250,000 people to Uptown in July and August. According to the City of Charlotte, BofA Stadium generated an estimated $1.1 billion in economic impact for the Charlotte region in 2023 + more than $234 million of that was from Charlotte FC.
