New York-based Spandrel Development is aiming to redevelop the building at 400 South Tryon Street to a mixed-use building, featuring a hotel, residential space, and retail. The tower was originally built in 1974, and several comments on this post advocate keeping its 1970s design. A timeline for the project has not been made public.
