Where to watch Carolina teams during the NCAA Tournament

Prepare those brackets. Across the country, sports fans will be glued to their television screens for the NCAA Tournament. With so many games coming up, you don’t have to look far to find a good sports bar prepared to cheer on the Carolinas. Here are some of our favorites.

Appalachian State University

Angry Ale’s | Open daily | 1518 Montford Dr. | This hangout in Montford has hosted App State watch parties in the past so feel free to visit for a savory burger, tenders, or cheesesteaks.

Pro tip: The restaurant will show every game on TV + has special drink and food deals during the tournament.

Clemson University

Clutch Kitchen & Pour House | Open daily | 601 S. Cedar St. | The Clemson Alumni Association tends to host watch parties at Clutch to cheer on the Tigers. Plus, you can’t beat the view of Bank of America Stadium from the patio.

College of Charleston

QC Pour House | Open daily | 200 W. Tremont Ave. | Share some nachos or pimento fries with friends while watching the Cougars in the big dance.

Davidson College

Brickhouse Tavern | Open daily | 209 Delburg St. | Savor a pizza or sandwich at this refurbished cotton mill-turned-sports bar. Plus, it’s just a short walk away from the college campus.

Duke University

HopFly Brewing | Open Tuesday-Sunday | 1327 S. Mint St. | While this isn’t an official bar for the Blue Devils, fans can be surrounded by several screens and friends to cheer on the team.

NC State University

Caswell Station | Open daily | 366 N. Caswell Rd. | Dine indoors or outdoors to cheer on the Pack as they take on the competition on the court.

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Moo & Brew | Open daily | 1300 Central Ave. | Known as the official bar for the Tar Heels, savor a burger and local craft beer at this Plaza Midwood staple.

University of South Carolina

The Horseshoe | Open Wednesday-Sunday | 1515 S. Mint St. | Consider ordering wings, sandwiches, or the skillet mac and cheese while watching the Gamecocks at this spot known for repping USC.

Wake Forest University

Selwyn Pub | Open Tuesday-Sunday | 2801 Selwyn Ave. | This Myers Park pub became the official Wake Forest “watch party” bar back in 2018, serving up pizza, fried pickles, and good vibes.
