Get ready to have a “spectacular” Fourth of July. The Charlotte Knights are partnering with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra to present Charlotte’s Stars and Stripes Spectacular and WBT Sky Show at Truist Field, all to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

“The show will embrace the variety of voices, histories, and traditions that have informed that great American sound over the last 250 years,” Charlotte Symphony Orchestra Music Director Kwame Ryan told CLTtoday. “We’ll have excerpts from Gershwin’s ‘Porgy and Bess,’ jazz, ragtime, and the great American film composer, John Williams.”

While most commercial roofs come with a warranty, that coverage is only valuable if you understand it. Easier said than done.

Benton Roofing’s Warranty Status Review Program helps translate the fine print of your roof warranty, so you can get clear on your coverage before small issues become big expenses.

A Warranty Status Review will:

  • Explain what qualifies under warranty in plain terms
  • Help you avoid unnecessary out-of-pocket costs
  • Document issues that may qualify for repairs
  • Confirm remaining coverage

Ready to hang out with your cool, older sister? We’re spilling the tea. Plot Twist, an all-day coffee and cocktail bar, is coming soon to Plaza Midwood. The new spot aims to be a true “third space,” with the kind of cool, welcoming vibes you’d expect at your older sister’s house — something co-owner Nikki Velazquez says Charlotte is missing.

“I was 20, or 21, and thought about wanting to go to a cool older sister’s house and get advice,” Velazquez explained to CLTtoday. “Places like that don’t exist anymore because we’re not meeting people the way we used to.”

Plot Twist’s coffee program will launch on Tuesday, April 21, offering eight signature taste profiles with coffee from Charlotte-based Night Swim Coffee Roasters and Little Waves Coffee Roasters, a Latina-led, women-powered roastery out of Durham. Think: ube coconut, lavender vanilla, and matcha banana pudding.
