Truist Championship tees up in Charlotte

New fan experiences, local cuisine, and love for golf to shine bright at Quail Hollow Club when the Truist Championship begins in May.

Charlotte is gearing up to host the Truist Championship, a PGA Tour signature event set for May 6–10 at Quail Hollow Club — and tickets are selling fast.

“Quail Hollow has a long tradition of hosting the game’s greatest moments, and we’re proud to once again welcome the Truist Championship back home,” Johno Harris, Truist Championship Executive Committee Chairman, told CLTtoday.

Events during tournament week

Each day brings its own draw, including the Celebrity-Am on Wednesday, May 6, featuring Panthers legends like Steve Smith, Luke Kuechly, and Thomas Davis. The tournament will also honor military members during Folds of Honor Friday.

New activations + amenities

During tournament week, local small businesses like 704 Shop, Girl Tribe, and Two Scoops Creamery will be featured at Quail Hollow, giving fans a taste of Charlotte flavor and style on and off the course.

Fans can also expect:

  • A family park featuring interactive games for children
  • An improved fan shop, four times larger than previous shops, behind the second green
  • Public seating along the 17th hole — a first for this event
  • 5,000 branded Stanley cups distributed at five water stations
  • Climate-controlled tents + upgraded restroom trailers

For the competitors: A new trophy was unveiled, created by SOCO Gallery, and with input from the community. Check out the reveal.

For the attendees: Starting May 5, organizers are starting a monthly series to highlight local organizations and honor Charlotte native and PGA legend, Dr. Charles Sifford. Five local charities were announced as the top fundraisers through the Birdies for Better program, where each organization will be featured during a dedicated day of the tournament week:

  • 24 Foundation
  • Augustine Literacy Project
  • Charlotte Family Housing
  • Humane Society of Charlotte
  • Safe House Project
