Carolina Theatre announces reopening date

Theater is so back. After closing in 1978, the Carolina Theatre in Uptown Charlotte will host ticketed events and shows starting Monday, March 24.

The historic Carolina Theatre reopening date is now set after being closed for nearly 50 years. Join the ribbon-cutting celebration on Monday, March 24 at 3 p.m., followed by a free Open House until 7 p.m.

Upcoming events at the Carolina Theatre

Charlotte Symphony Orchestra (CSO)
Following the Open House, the CSO will take the stage on Friday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. Did you know? The CSO had its inaugural performance at the Carolina Theatre in 1932.

Mark and Maggie O’Connor
The first ticketed event in half a century will feature these Grammy Award-winning musicians on Saturday, March 29 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $37.

Charlotte SHOUT!
The kickoff for the annual celebration of art and culture will feature a keynote presentation by AI leader Noelle Russell on April 3 at 6 p.m. Tickets start at $28.
