Go on an adventure visiting “The Keepers of Balance”

The adventure-style escape room brings a unique experience full of special effects, puzzles, and Indiana Jones-style thrills to Charlotte.

Ever wanted to escape a mummy’s tomb or board a Viking ship? This is your chance.

Travel through time and realms when The Keepers of Balance — an escape room-style experience — debuts in Charlotte soon, near where West Woodlawn Road meets Billy Graham Parkway.

It’s not your typical escape room. Instead of locks and keys, teams will perform physical and mental challenges to solve mysteries and dodge perils through various realms. The clock will be ticking.

City Editor Jack, here. City Editor Maria and I embarked on “The Quest for the Temple of Light” mission and we had a blast. If you love “Indiana Jones” or “The Goonies,” this will be up your alley.

This experience is three years in the making, creating many of the props, rooms, and displays by hand, with the help of Disney Imagineers.

“We wanted to bring something really special to Charlotte because we call this home,” CEO and founder Ryan Griffith told CLTtoday.

But wait, there’s more. Guests can also look forward to more experiences, plus food and party space in the coming weeks.

Editor’s note: Phase two of “Keepers of Balance” will include an outdoor hangout area with food and beverages. That’s expected by the end of the year.

“We want people that, when they leave, feel like, ‘I just went to Disney,’” said Griffith.

Prices starting at $50 per person, depending on group size, ranging from 2 to 6 people.
