Progress is being made for The Vision Zero initiative to enhance pedestrian safety across the Queen City. Pavement markings and flashing yellow school zone signs have been added outside Joseph Grier Academy in northeast Charlotte. My favorite memory visiting Brooks’ Sandwich House happened back on Feb. 1, 2020. Brooks reopened that day after a prolonged closure following Mr. Scott Brooks’ death. Hundreds of customers came to show their support. City Editor Maria and I stood in line for an hour for our food and it was totally worth the wait.
