If you’re looking for the ultimate playground near South End and Uptown — complete with cocktails, gourmet food, a large deck, and a massive jumbotron — consider this an early Christmas present. Market on Morehead is expected to open in December.

If you’ve visited Columbia, SC, (hey, COLAtoday), the concept comes straight from the brains behind Market on Main, which opened in late 2019.

Expanding into the Queen City

“Growing up and living down the road in Columbia, we visited Charlotte frequently for shopping, sports events, and to fly out of the amazingly well-connected airport,” Josh Willoughby, Co-owner and CEO of Market on Main, told CLTtoday.

The market will be nestled at Carson Station along the Rail Trail, offering a laid-back atmosphere between South End and Uptown.

Diners will enjoy food using local ingredients and a menu that will change seasonally.

Building expectations

The one-stop shop along Morehead Square Drive promises to be a community hub for events and entertainment, serving “elevated Americana cuisine” from locally-sourced ingredients and drinks.
