Editor Maria, here. Yesterday, I watched as dozens of people lined The Plaza as Buddhist monks walked through Plaza Midwood during their Walk for Peace. Strangers cried and hugged, peace was offered, and everyone left feeling uplifted. It was a moment I’ll never forget.
The monks are walking to Washington, DC, with stops in Greensboro, Raleigh, and Richmond — follow their journey.
Tomorrow, I’m heading to Durham to compete in an axe throwing tournament, where the winners get a bid to the international competition in Canada. Some of the country’s top throwers will be there, and while I don’t expect to place, I’m just thrilled to be a part of it. Axe throwing has been such a rewarding hobby and sport. Wish me luck!
