Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools are proposing to overhaul the district’s magnet programs. The proposal would implement a new school choice transfer and lottery system, open a new STEM high school, and take effect during the 2027-2028 school year. Charlotte FC is ready to score with $26 tickets for every home match this season. Ready to cheer for The Crown? The team’s home opener is Saturday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m. vs. Austin FC at Bank of America Stadium.

Talk about “midsummer madness.” Japanese singer, songwriter, and rapper Joji is bringing his “Solaris” tour to the Spectrum Center on Monday, June 29. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, March 6 at 10 a.m.

State
The University of North Carolina Board of Governors voted to increase resident undergraduate tuition. The change will raise the system-wide tuition average from $4,684 to $4,809 in 2026-2027, affecting only new students. This is the first time tuition has increased in nine years.
Charlotte firefighter Bryan Battle will make his Professional Fight League debut next month. The fight against Johnny Eblen will be his first as a mixed martial artist headliner. The fight airs March 28 on ESPN2 and ESPN+ at 10 p.m. (WCNC)
