The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-0 tornado hit a warehouse in Northeast Charlotte. On the air yesterday, Chief Meteorologist Brad Panovich said “Looking at the tree damage, in particular, I could tell that a tornado clipped that area.” (WCNC)

Hendrick Motorsports filed a petition to extend its complex at Papa Joe Hendrick Boulevard toward Morehead Road and Old Holland Road. The area is currently zoned for residential usage. The petition would need to be approved by Charlotte City Council. (The Charlotte Observer)

The Novant Health Belk Heart & Vascular Institute is adding a new valve replacement procedure program to its Charlotte institute. The new procedure allows surgeons to treat mitral valve disease without open-heart surgery. (Charlotte Business Journal)

“Don’t cha” want tickets to this concert? The Pussycat Dolls are bringing their world tour to Truliant Amphitheater in July. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 20 at 20 a.m. (WCNC)

North Carolina is one of 26 states participating in a three-year pilot program recently approved by the FAA that will test electric aircraft travel, including electric air taxis. Spring is in the air, and so are the basketballs. Off the heels of the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament in Uptown, the Queen City is now ready to celebrate March Madness. Here’s everything you need to celebrate NCAA tournament season.
What about local teams?
Queens University of Charlotte’s men’s basketball team is heading to its first-ever NCAA Division I Tournament after defeating Central Arkansas in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The team is a 15 seed and will face Purdue in the first round on Friday, March 20 at 7:35 p.m.
