It’s been an exciting week for Charlotte sports fans. The Panthers won at home on Sunday, plus CLTtoday brought you the news of two upcoming Duke’s Mayo Classic games at Bank of America Stadium.

Fear not basketball fans, we made sure to save you a slam-dunk story. Women’s college basketball takes center stage at Spectrum Center in Uptown on Sunday, Nov. 10 for the Ally Tipoff.

Fans can expect not one, but two nationally-televised match-ups featuring three of last year’s final four teams in the NCAA Women’s Tournament.

3 p.m. — NC State vs. South Carolina (televised on ESPN)
5:30 p.m. — Virginia Tech vs. Iowa (televised on ESPN2)

Editor’s note: Last year’s Ally Tipoff game featuring Virginia Tech vs. Iowa drew 15,000 people — the most attended college women’s basketball game in North Carolina history.

“Some of our favorite photos from last year are little girls and boys at this event just being over the moon seeing superstars like Caitlin Clark,” shared Miller Yoho of Charlotte Sports Foundation. “We want every fan who walks in this Sunday to feel like they were part of a special moment.”

Tickets are still available, so fans can be part of that electric moment. — possibly among a bigger, louder crowd.

But wait, there’s more. The Ally Tipoff is coming back to the Spectrum Center in 2026. The competing teams for next year’s game remain TBA.
