Hollywood was once considered the premier destination for filmmaking, but Charlotte is quietly building an impressive resume of its own.

This spring, the Queen City will be the backdrop for the scripted drama series “The Hunting Wives,” adapted from the 2021 best-selling novel by May Cobb. The eight-episode series will follow Sophie, who moves from the East Coast to deep Texas where she meets socialite Margo Banks. The story descends into obsession, seduction, and murder.

Celebrity sightings
The series stars Malin Akerman as Banks. Akerman’s film credits include “The Proposal,” “Watchmen,” and the Showtime series “Billions.” Akerman recently posted on Instagram, saying “I have been looking for a great tv show to come along and steal my heart…and boy has this one ever done exactly that!” The series co-stars Brittany Snow as Sophie, known for films like “Pitch Perfect” and “Hairspray.”
