There’s no business like show business. That’s why the Charlotte Center for the Arts is working to build a new community hub in South Charlotte, aimed at expanding access to affordable rehearsal, performance, and education spaces for local artists.

The proposed hub would include:

  • A flexible black box theater
  • Rehearsal studios
  • Classrooms and workshops
  • Artist storefronts
  • A cafe and gallery space

Organizers envision the hub taking over vacant space inside a South Charlotte shopping center. Before construction can begin, the nonprofit is working to raise $90,000 for a feasibility study to guide fundraising, design, and future development plans.

Once funding is secured, the organization hopes to break ground in 2031, with opening night anticipated in 2032.
