Starting today, local nonprofit Share Charlotte is celebrating Do Good Week. From Monday, April 15 to Friday, April 19, the event rallies the community to volunteer for hundreds of organizations. People of all backgrounds + skill sets are invited to browse upcoming opportunities.

Two of Share Charlotte’s nonprofit partners are in need of volunteers:

Culinary Connections

This organization provides food security and nutrition education for children across Mecklenburg County.

  • Children’s Cooking Class | Saturday, April 27 | 11 a.m.-2 p.m. | Northside Baptist Church, 333 Jeremiah Blvd., Charlotte | Requirements for volunteers include interactions with students handling cooking and kitchen equipment.

Pancreatic Cancer Action Network

The Charlotte affiliate of this national nonprofit offers free resources for patients and families fighting pancreatic cancer.

  • PurpleStride Charlotte Walk | Saturday, April 27 | 7:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. | Romare Bearden Park, 300 S. Church St., Charlotte | Requirements for volunteers include cheering on participants, post-event tear down, and general clean up.

If you can’t volunteer this week, don’t worry. There are still plenty of ways to get involved year-round.
