Meet the editors behind CLTtoday

While these editors may not be Charlotte natives, they are so proud to call the Queen City “home.”

City Editors Jack and Maria have been friends since they both moved to Charlotte and worked in local broadcast news together.

Hey Queen City residents, editors Maria + Jack here. Between the two of us, we get the privilege of sharing local news, events, and conversations with readers in the QC, daily — here, and on our socials.

Now that we’re officially on the market, we thought we should formally introduce ourselves.

Meet Maria

Q: Describe your perfect day in Charlotte.
A: My perfect day would include... going to Snooze for breakfast with my partner, strolling through a farmer’s market, taking our dogs to Offleash at the Whitewater Center, enjoying dinner at SouthBound, followed by a nightcap at Edge City Brewery or Sophia’s Lounge.

Q: What’s your favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner spot around town?
A: For now, my favorites are Snooze, really anything at Optimist Hall, and Peppervine.

Q: Where’s somewhere you want to explore more?
A: I’d love to take a whole day and explore Davidson, Rock Hill, and Fort Mill. I’ve only tried places here and there and would love recommendations.

Whether it’s a sporting event or trying a new restaurant, Jack and Maria love exploring the Queen City.

Meet Jack

Q: Describe your perfect day in Charlotte.
A: A perfect day for me would be a long run on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway, followed by a day outside hiking nearby or playing pickleball at Park Road Park with my good friends + capping the day with drinks and dinner at Suffolk Punch in South End.

Q: What’s your favorite (for now) breakfast, lunch, and dinner spot around town?
A: I’m always craving biscuits + gravy from First Watch. For lunch, I’m keen to head towards Optimist Hall, and grab a thin-crust pizza from Harper’s in SouthPark.

Q: Where’s somewhere you want to explore more?
A: I’d love to take my camera and explore more of Waxhaw + the Lake Norman area. I’m a big photography fan and would love new spots focused on nature. Let me know where I should go next.
