Close your eyes and imagine teeing up at Pinehurst No. 2 or Pebble Beach. Now you can golf like the pros. Tap In, a golf “eatertainment” venue opening in Lower South End, brings a fresh take on the sport for both pros and first-timers when it opens Thursday, Aug. 29.

“I’m a big fan of personalization,” Tap In owner Miller Safrit told CLTtoday. “So you’ll tell us what type of golf experience you want to have, like if you’re a novice golfer or an expert, and based on that and some other questions, we’ll set you up with a course to play.”

The 10,000-sqft venue boasts a central putting green with a variety of games, eight golf bays with simulators to play world-famous PGA courses, and two bays with VR headsets for a completely different experience, like Walkabout Mini Golf, which has hundreds of different putt putt courses.

Cameras and computers in each bay can help golfers adjust their stance for a perfect swing.

The best part? No equipment necessary. “We will have bags in every bay for men, women, and kids,” said Safrit. “We’ll also offer premium clubs with a fee. If you bring your own clubs, we’re going to clean those and check the balls.”

The space is designed for more than tee shots. Tap In will offer a full food and drink menu. Think: hot dogs, tacos, local craft beer, wine, and signature cocktails. Bonus: An extra bay will also be converted to a cocktail lounge. Editor Maria, here. I’m excited to try the Wagyu skewers and the hot honey pepperoni flatbread.

Bays can be booked by the hour, starting at $49 + walk-ins are welcome, with memberships available soon. Pricing will vary based on the time of day and group size.
