“It’s gonna be a rock ‘n’ roll weekend” at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) — Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill is open to travelers, thanks to a star-studded ribbon-cutting attended by Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, Sammy Hagar.

The full-service restaurant in Concourse D seats 113 people + serves items like quesadillas, nachos, burgers, brisket, and a full cocktail menu. Diners can also marvel at photos and mementos from Hagar’s years on stage as a solo performer and as the frontman for Van Halen.

“Charlotte is out of sight,” said Hagar. “Bringing Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill to Charlotte is all about sharing good times, great food, and a rockin’ playlist with travelers.”

Pro tip: Try the mango margarita — you won’t regret it.

Bonus: Proceeds from the restaurant at CLT will benefit Levine Children’s Hospital and Hope Street Food Pantry.

Be sure to get comfortable with the airport using this guide to CLT Douglas + grab a seat before boarding a flight.
