Due to popular demand: Mood House opens second massage studio

The studio provides massage and sauna services for anyone looking to melt stress away.

After much success in Dilworth, Mood House has opened a second location in Oakhurst.

If Palm Springs were placed in Charlotte, it would be Mood House. The popular massage and sauna studio opened a second location in Oakhurst and, it’s a vibe.

The studio at Oakhurst Commons (4008 Monroe Rd.) features eight cabana massage suites, three infrared saunas, and a private studio.

Pro tip: This is the same business park where Switchyards opened its second co-working space + where The Health Club will be opening in late 2024.

What fueled the growth? Since opening in 2021, Mood House Dilworth’s memberships grew to 1,400, causing demand for more space.

“We were really kind of pushing the ceiling of what our demand could handle,” said owner Christina Wilson. “I feel grateful that we did [expand] because had we not opened now, we would have been at the point of capping memberships.”

Comfort and color were top of mind while Mood House was in the design phase.

If you’re interested in getting a massage or stepping into the infrared sauna, don’t worry. A membership is not required.

  • Monthly subscription: $92 for 50-minute massage, $125 for 80-minute massage
  • A la carte massage: $112 for 50-minute massage, $150 for 80-minute massage

“It’s amazing to have a massage once a year to celebrate but you’re not gonna feel a difference unless you’re coming more regularly,” said Wilson. “You just need that ongoing relationship and treatment to feel relief in your body and mentally.”

City Editor Maria, here. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Mood House + the infrared sauna. The team really makes you feel comfortable whether it’s your first massage or if you’re a regular.

“If you’re new to massage, I know that can be really intimidating,” added Wilson. “We’ll guide you through every step and we’ll make sure you’re with the right fit for therapists.”

Will there be a third location? Only time will tell.
